HISTORY
The Khalari Parish is situated to North-West of Ranchi at a distance of about 70 k.m. In 1981 the Parish Church was built by Rev. Fr. De Meulder,S.J. and blessed by Most Rev. Pius Kerketta,S.J., Archbishop of Ranchi on November 29th 1981. The Church was dedicated to St. John Paul in memory of His Holiness Pope John Paul II. Till then Khalari was a part of Lapra Parish..
It was separated from Lapra Parish on 1985 and handed over to Pallotine Fathers as a new Mission Station Khalari Parish, for further development. On 8th May 2003 on the occasion of the Platinum Jubilee, His Grace Archbishop Telesphore P. Toppo proclaim new Patron of Khalalri Church Christ the King.
