Over 500 blankets distributed in Village School. The warmth of a child's smile is best Christmas gift says Bishop Theodore

Among the mountains, valleys and jungles of the Garu Block in Latehar district of Jharkhand about 150 km from Ranchi lies the  village of ganeshpur along with other surrounding villages which have been left behind by civilization, development and modernization. The Daltonganj diocese has been working in this area among these most marginalized Adivasis for the last 50 years trying to bring up the poor children with the education. Over 500 children study in the Nav Chetna Baal school, Ganeshpur, constructed with mud and thatched roofs because of financial constraints. 
Today was a special Christmas for them as Bishop Theodore along with the priests of Daltonganj and Ranchi distributed over 500 blankets to these poor children who come walking bare foot from distances up to 8 kms in freezing temperatures which come down to even 0 degrees Celsius.
Street Providence Goa provided 250  of these blankets and 250 of this blankets. Mr. Athonio Alberto Dias contributed 50 and 200 blankets were acquired from the donations received from the people of Caranzalem Parish of Goa. The children sang a touching Welcome song and Bishop Theodore asked the children to pray for the benefactors. The warmth of the children's smile was the best Christmas gift. Other than Bishop Theodore Mascarenhas SFX, Fr. Ashit, Fr. Walter, Fr. Amardeep, Br. Suman, the mukhiya of the place, and teachers of the school were present at the time of blanket distribution.

 रांची से लगभग 150 किमी दूर झारखंड के लातेहार जिले के गारू ब्लॉक के पहाड़ों, घाटियों और जंगलों के बीच गणेशपुर गांव के साथ-साथ आसपास के अन्य गांव भी हैं जो सभ्यता, विकास और आधुनिकीकरण से पीछे रह गए हैं।  डाल्टनगंज धर्मप्रांत पिछले 50 वर्षों से इस क्षेत्र में इन सबसे वंचित आदिवासियों के बीच काम कर रहा है और गरीब बच्चों को शिक्षा के साथ आगे बढ़ाने की कोशिश कर रहा है।  नव चेतना बाल स्कूल, गणेशपुर में 500 से अधिक बच्चे आर्थिक तंगी के कारण मिट्टी और फूस की छत से बने स्कूल में पढ़ते हैं।
आज उनके लिए एक विशेष क्रिसमस रहा क्योंकि बिशप थिओदोर ने डाल्टनगंज और रांची के पुरोहितो के साथ इन गरीब बच्चों के बीच 500 से अधिक कंबल वितरित किए, जो दस डिग्री सेल्सियस से भी कम तापमान में 8 किमी दूर से नंगे पैर चलकर आते हैं।
 स्ट्रीट प्रोविडेंस गोवा ने  250 कंबल उपलब्ध कराए।  श्री एथोनियो अल्बर्टो डायस ने 50 कंबल का योगदान दिया और 200 कंबल गोवा के कैरानज़ेलम पैरिश के लोगों से प्राप्त दान से प्राप्त किए गए।  बच्चों ने मार्मिक स्वागत गीत गाया और बिशप थिओदोर ने बच्चों से उपकारकों के लिए प्रार्थना करने को कहा।  बच्चों की मुस्कान की गर्माहट सबसे अच्छा क्रिसमस उपहार थी।  बिशप थियोडोर मस्कारेन्हास एस एफ एक्स के अलावा, फादर आशित, फादर.  वाल्टर, फादर.  अमरदीप, ब्र. सुमन  वहां के मुखिया जी और स्कूल के शिक्षक मौजूद कंबल वितरण के दौरान मौजूद थे।
